Chef David Speight joined the ARAMARK Sports & Entertainment team on April 24th, 2008 and is responsible for leading all culinary operations at Rogers Arena.

David is a homegrown Vancouver talent who mentored under Chef Robert Craig at Monk McQueen’s starting in 1995. He received his Red Seal certification, graduating in the top three of his class and in1999, opened the Saint Street Grill in Port Moody as Executive Chef at age 23.

After about a year, David sprang back into the downtown culinary scene where he learned from some established Vancouver chefs at Oritalia, and Aqua Riva and returned to Monk McQueen’s in 2001 as the Executive Chef. He led the kitchen there for four years, winning Where Magazine’s award for “Best Seafood” in 2003. In July of 2005, David brought his culinary expertise further west to False Creek as Dining Room Chef at Bridges Restaurant on Granville Island. David has won numerous culinary awards including the most recent, “Best BC Food Award” at the 2008 Liberty BC Food & Wine Event.

As a self described “foodie”, David believes that food found in the Pacific Northwest Region is amongst the best in the world and looks to provide guests with local, sustainable, organic products wherever possible. His pride, passion and enthusiasm make him a natural leader, but David believes you are only as strong as the people you surround yourself with.
